If you love Word Arts, I’m sure you would like to create your own.
I hope that this tutorial will help you to create beautiful, disappearing WA – that will decorate your layouts in a unique way.
How to create transparent Word Art
I’m using Adobe Photoshop and tutorial is based on this program, but it should be similar in other programs (like Gimp, Paint Shop Pro etc.)
First you have to create a new file 3600×3600 px
Then, using a tool „text”, enter your word art:
Check whether the layer of text is active.
Right-click the layer with your text. In the dialog box that opens, select „Rasterize Type”
Now select the tool „Eraser„
And change the settings on:
Brush with soft ends
Change the brush on size 2000 px
Then, on the top menu bar, decrease transparency. I set on 64%
So set now using the eraser, gently blot out the side edges of WA.
Disable background layer, leaving only the active layer with your text.
Word Art is ready to be saved.
From the File menu, choose Save As.
Save WA as a .png file (with a transparent background)
Now we put our Word Art to the layout. Open your layout (saved as a .psd file – with preserved layers). In the open window with Word Art, press CTRL + A (select all).
And then Ctrl + C (copy).
Switch to the window in which you have your layout. Paste WA over layer with paper by using CTRL + V (paste)
On the active layer of the Word Art reduce the its transparency.
And that’s all your layout with fading Word Art is ready!
Do not forget to reduce your layout to the size of 600×600 pixels and publish in ScrapBird gallery
And here is my finished layout:
